Getting to know your Monolith
Your first doses
Begin with the operating manual for your grinder. It covers setup, controls and the cleaning routine. Burrs and controls have evolved across Monolith generations, so use the guidance that applies to your model and burr set.
Cleaning and maintenance
The Monolith grinding chamber is designed to be cleaned without losing your grind setting. Follow the model-specific manual for disassembly and reassembly, and clear remaining grounds from the short exit chute with the Thwacker as described there.
Understanding your extraction report
Your espresso grinder was dialed in and tested individually before leaving our workshop. The report records that test; it is a starting point for your own setup. Coffee, roast, basket, dose, water and machine all affect the result. Dial in for your cup rather than trying to reproduce the report.
